Utah Association of CPAs Celebrates Excellence and New CPAs at the 2026 Awards Luncheon

 

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (September 21, 2026) — The Utah Association of CPAs (UACPA) is hosting its annual 2026 Awards & Inauguration ceremony on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Murray Armory. This event honors exceptional accounting leaders and formally inaugurates a fresh cohort of newly licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) into the profession.

Representing more than 2,500 CPAs, professional affiliates, and students across Utah, the UACPA recognizes individuals nominated by their peers and vetted by the association’s awards leadership for their professional competence, service, leadership, and positive impact on the accounting community.

“We look forward to celebrating not only our newly licensed CPAs who have demonstrated immense perseverance to earn their designation, but also the perennial leaders whose lifelong excellence anchors our profession,” says UACPA CEO Susan Speirs.

During the ceremony, the UACPA will be presenting peer-nominated awards across public practice, industry, education, and public service. 

Organized by the UACPA’s Emerging Professionals Council, the event is sponsored by Squire, Eide Bailly, Utah Valley University Accounting, and Haynie & Company. 

The 2026 award winners and categories are as follows:

  • Distinguished Service Award:Jonyce Bullock (CEO, Squire)
  • Outstanding CPA in Public Practice:Phillip Peini (Managing Partner –Squire, Southern Region)
  • Outstanding CPA in Nonprofit & Government:Troy Runnells (CFO & COO, my529)
  • Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry:Art Warsoff (President & Co-Owner, Transworld Business Advisors)
  • Outstanding Educator:Michelle Rankin (Professional-in-Residence Tax Faculty, Utah Valley University)
  • Outstanding Leadership Council Member:Clark Wilkinson (Owner, Wilkinson, Cooley and Co. PC; Mayor of Centerville)
  • Rising Star Award:Braden Morrison (Tax Associate, CLA)
  • Women to Watch: Emerging Leader:Brooke Butterfield (Audit Manager, Tanner)
  • Women to Watch: Experienced Leader:Caroline Klein (Owner, Klein Tax & Accounting Services)
  • Lifetime Member Honorees:
