SE Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our office in Salt Lake City. This is an exciting opportunity to join the small but mighty Finance & Operations team for a company that is an industry leader in outdoor recreation planning, design, and permitting. Position Priorities

The Accounting Manager will oversee all day-to-day accounting processes of SE Group.  This position will report to our Chief Financial Officer and can also expect to collaborate with our entire Operations team and Directors of each of our practice groups as they work to ensure the highest level of financial operations and reporting for the company.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and process all aspects of employee payroll (including set up, accruals, benefits and posting for approximately 50 people across seven states).
• Lead project accounting, working alongside project managers to produce 175-200 invoices on a monthly basis; support month-end processing and reporting.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manage and process accounts receivable and accounts payable, providing project and project manager support.
• Assist CFO, President, and Leadership Team with special projects.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting. This position is primarily designed for candidates that have 5-8 years of professional accounting experience.

Other required skills and experience include:

• Demonstrated excellence in project accounting and financial management, preferably in a leadership position at professional service company similar to ours.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with highest standards for being detail-oriented and organized – if you are a self-starter, you’ll thrive in this role.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or other financial and project management system – Deltek is our strong preference here, can you help us level up our utilization of this software?
• Excellent written and oral communication skills – are you able to effectively to communicate your ideas to both internal and external stakeholders?
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment – this will be key, given your work across multiple offices and practice groups.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn various tax and compliance regulations in new geographies – this will be increasingly important as our company expands its services.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs.
• CPA accreditation is not required for this position, but is certainly seen as an asset.

While we are primarily operating in a hybrid work environment, being able to meet, collaborate, socialize in the same space remains vital to our team dynamic. Therefore, we will be prioritizing candidates that live within reasonable driving distance of our office in Salt Lake City, UT, but remain open to other options for qualified applicants.

• The anticipated salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $85,000, depending upon qualifications and experience.
