This role will assist the shadow accounting process overseeing the Fund’s third-party administrator for monthly and quarterly-closes including reviews of fund financial statements, investor allocations, management, performance and other fees, and internal/external reporting. Certain responsibilities of the role cover day-to-day operations including the payment of management and performance fees, expense allocations, and review of financial statements. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of accounting with 2-4 years auditing experience within a public accounting firm. CPA with previous work experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar degree is required. Deer Park will strongly consider a CPA professional with experience limited to Investment Management Audit (i.e., Senior Auditor to recently promoted Audit Manager) in lieu of having a mix of public/private work experience. Ultimately, this position will play a vital role in our Company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with all laws and accuracy in Accounting.
Core Responsibilities
- Liaise with the fund administrator for shadowing fund books, preparation of estimates, month-end and quarterly NAV reviews, assistance with financial statement preparation, annual audits and tax work
- Review all monthly items including operating expense schedules, month-end close packages, which contain financial statements and their supporting schedules and investor statements
- Oversight, analysis, and reporting over cash, collateral, and margin requirements
Preferred Experience & Professional Skills
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite, Advent Geneva
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge and Alteryx user
- Knowledge of investment and investment management fund tax
- Relevant work experience as a CPA
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar degree with CPA certification
Job Type : Full-time
Compensation: $100,000 – 125,000
