Job Description:  Tax Manager (in transition to Tax Partner)

Job Type:  Full-time, Benefitted         Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Pay:  $90,000 - $120,000 annually based on experience

Basic Function: The primary Tax Manager duty is the management of tax compliance and consulting for an existing group of tax clientele. A wide spectrum of tax knowledge across business, individual and fiduciary tax compliance and consulting will be required. The Tax Manager term will be for 3-5 years. During management years, the Tax Manager will work directly with existing tax partners until transitioning to a Tax Partner position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent tax planning, consulting and expertise for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries
  • Prepare business and personal income tax projections, along with compiled financial statements for review
  • Recommend financial reporting and compliance process improvements
  • Supervise a tax accounting team and review their work
  • Engage in tax research and stay abreast of tax law adjustments

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of tax public accounting experience and/or currently in a Tax Manager position
  • Active CPA license
  • Extensive accounting and financial statement literacy background
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for tax clients
  • Demonstrated competence in all areas of tax and public accounting work
  • Highly organized with exceptional workflow and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using accounting software systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to establish great working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed to providing high levels of client service in a responsive and friendly manner
