Assistant Controller
Sure-Loc Hardware, LLC is a leading supplier of door and bath hardware throughout the United States, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Assa Abloy, a global leader in access solutions. Sure-Loc maintains a reputation for quality products and excellent customer service. As a result of growth, we are seeking to fill a new position to the organization, Assistant Controller. The position reports to the CFO and will be a key partner to the business, with responsibility for day-to-day accounting and month-end closing responsibilities. Key responsibilities include the following:
Responsibilities: · Manage key accounting functions including month-end close and consolidation, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, fixed assets and accounts receivable · Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including maintaining payroll records and managing employee inquiries · Timely reporting of monthly financial metrics to Assa Abloy according to the reporting requirements provided · Collaborate with the CFO in the preparation of financial analyses and reports for executive management · Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and processes and corresponding documentation · Drive ongoing process improvements to reduce the accounting close cycle, increase process efficiency, and enhance the quality of management information · Lead optimization and automation activities with respect to utilization of the ERP system · Lead a high performing accounting team · Participate/support budget and forecast processes · Special projects as needed
Requirements: · 2-5 years of applicable experience, including previous experience as an assistant controller · Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance · Proficient in excel and utilization of ERP systems · Experience working with high-growth, fast-paced companies · Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written · Proficient in GAAP · Strong leadership skills – demonstrated success in building effective teams · Detail oriented · Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment · Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems · Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred · Hands on leader, yet strategic minded
