About the Role

The Senior Accountant is key to the success of New Age’s Accounting and Finance department and reports directly to the Controller. This position is primarily responsible for executing important steps in our month-end close and assisting accounting and finance executives in executing best-in-class practices. A successful candidate must be able to show proven success in public accounting, handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, and show great attention to detail. People who find a lot of success are self-starters who can adapt well to changing responsibilities and workload while maintaining positive relationships with executives and team members!

What You’ll Do

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes in accordance with US GAAP
• Manage the corporate division accounting books, including debt and equity transactions
• Manage corporate stock compensation program
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies/procedures
• Perform research of complex or unusual accounting transactions, and document the resulting accounting conclusions
• Provide support and explanations as needed to other departments, internal audits, and external auditors

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Advanced educational degrees (i.e., MBA) will be considered a plus.
• Minimum of three years related work experience, with Big 4 public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in active and good standing.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with experience in presenting ideas/concepts to varying levels of management.
• Strong critical-thinking and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to manage deadline requirements and multi-task projects.
• Ability to interact and develop strong partnerships with varying levels of management.
• Experience in performing US GAAP technical accounting research and resolving technical accounting issues.
• Comfortable using and learning technology (e.g., Microsoft Office products, Workiva, Essbase, HFM).

Preferred:

• CPA preferred
• Oracle experience a plus
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
