Board Position

Wasatch Public Media, the nonprofit behind KCPW, is looking for new board members. We’re a small 501(c)(3) corporation with one goal: upholding your local, independent source of news, information, culture, and ideas.

KCPW 88.3 FM in Salt Lake City is a noncommercial, community radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. When we went on the air in 1993, KCPW’s 24/7 news and information format was unique in the Salt Lake market. From our studio on Library Square, KCPW continues that tradition today with broadcasting, online streaming, local podcasts, and unique public service broadcasts, including candidate debates.

In addition to bringing national programs like This American Life, Radiolab, and Marketplace, KCPW’s staff produces award-winning programs. These include Behind the Headlines, a weekly roundup with Utah journalists; In the Hive, which explores Salt Lake events, history, and culture; and Both Sides of the Aisle, where Utah politicians of different parties debate tough issues with good humor.

Wasatch Public Media is working to expand our all-volunteer board so we can better support and sustain KCPW. We are eager to hear from others who are passionate about public radio, and we are especially interested in prospective board members with business, legal, or nonprofit backgrounds. If you care about local, independent media, and you’re interested in serving our community, we’d love to hear from you. Email board@kcpw.org and let us know about yourself, your interests, and background.
