The UACPA has received this message from Jody Stamback who can be reached at Jody.K.Stamback@irs.gov to RSVP for this Nov. 14 meeting.

"I am sending this on behalf of the Taxpayer First Act Office. You may or may not know, but this legislation is geared to restructure the IRS.  It says we need to, but does not tell us how.  That is what the Taxpayer First Act Office is going to do.  They want practitioner input.  They are coming to Ogden next week and want 15-20 practitioners to meet with them to give their ideas and feedback on the restructuring.  The meeting is set for next Thursday, November 14th at 4:00 pm.

I am responsible for getting some of you there.  I know there are those of you out there who have great ideas because you have shared some of them with me.  This is an opportunity to make a real difference in what the new IRS may look like.

Below you will see the official invitation, but I wanted to explain it a little more so you would understand the importance of this opportunity.  If you are seriously interested and have the availability to attend, please respond back to me as soon as possible.  I am limited to 15-20 practitioners.

I hope you will seriously consider joining me at this meeting to discuss the future of the IRS.

To the Tax Practitioner Community:

On Monday, November 14, 2019, IRS leaders of the newly established office to implement provisions of the Taxpayer First Act will visit the IRS facilities in Ogden, UT to gather insights from a variety of stakeholders on how best to approach this seminal piece of work on behalf of IRS and America’s taxpayers.  You are being invited to participate in an open dialogue with the TFAO team on November 14, 2019 at 4:30pm at the James Hansen Federal Building 324 25th Street Ogden, UT  84401

Your input on how we can best approach service delivery to meet the diverse needs of our stakeholders is critical to the success of our efforts. TFA leadership wants to hear tax professionals’ thoughts on what kind of organizational structure would help us deliver that approach. And we want to hear your thoughts on opportunities we have to provide a better experience for you and your clients.

This meeting will provide an opportunity for TFA leaders to share more information and to listen to the insights, feedback and suggestions from engaged tax professionals.  We also want you to share this information with your clients and funnel their feedback to us through your normal points of contact.
