Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Comply with and understand all safety rules and job hazards.  Perform job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Primary interface for development of product cost estimates for long-term agreements and budgets.  Works directly with Plant and Product Management leadership to develop accurate cost estimates and analysis of financial aspects of customer proposals.
  • Prepares, analyzes, interprets, and reports clear, accurate, and timely manufacturing plant performance information to management (including actual versus budget and actual versus standard), and assists in the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Develops and maintains standardized processes and tools for financial aspects of plant product costing standards.  Working with Engineering Teams and Operations to accurately develop and update all aspects of the standards.
  • Analyzes cost of quality, including scrap costs with the intent to assist in reducing cost of quality.
  • Assists Plant Engineering and Department Managers with cost savings associated with Continuous Improvement. Measures effectiveness of past continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provides inventory analysis, assists in developing and maintaining systems of internal control over inventory while insuring proper shop floor control and reporting.  Assists in organizing and reconciling physical inventory, as well as the cycle-counting process.
  • Performs working-level professional accounting work under the general supervision of the Matrix Plant Controller.  Records, audits, verifies, controls, and reports financial transactions with an emphasis on inventory.
  • Support both internal and external audits of financial controls
  • Work with all members of the operations team to achieve financial and business goals and objectives. Develops tools to proactively address plant issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations management or finance.
  • Strong background in product costing and plant cost measurement, analysis and communication of results against targets.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.  Experience presenting to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to draw conclusions, recommend actions, and make decisions based on data analysis.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, Invoicing, and Journal Entries.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.  Possess advanced level Excel skills.
