|Utah CPA Foundation|
The Utah CPA Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the CPA profession, provide much needed financial literacy education to the community at large, expose the next generation of students to CPA professionals, and grow leaders in the profession.
Free financial literacy classes, leadership development, and networking opportunities are a major part of the Financial Literacy Program and ProNet Council, two of our most successful programs.
The mission of the Utah CPA Foundation is to provide financial support to three major initiatives sponsored by the UACPA. These initiatives are helping to promote the profession, educate the public on Financial Literacy, and recognize educators that help us accomplish our goals.
In January 2010, the Foundation kicked off a major fund raising campaign to secure the financial resources needed to fund our activities. Our goal is to raise $250,000 and secure the future of the initiatives we support.
For the Profession
ProNet Council activities are attracting the best and brightest to the profession and helping students transition from the life of a student to the life of a professional. ProNet Council is designed to be a bridge that helps young professionals connect with the CPA community, develop leadership skills, and begin to learn the life lessons they need to be a successful part of any organization. These young professionals are your future employees and the future of the profession. Help us provide them with the skills they need to hit the ground running.
The High School Accounting Teacher Awards recognizes the importance that high school educators play in steering students to a career in accounting. Studies show that reaching out to students in high school to discuss future education and career choices is invaluable. Recognizing teachers that are contributing to the future of the CPA profession promotes good will and demonstrates the appreciation of the profession.
For Corporate Sponsors
The UACPA Financial Literacy Program was designed by CPAs to help Utah citizens understand their finances. With astonishing bankruptcy and foreclosure statistics, the need for Financial Literacy education is growing and so is our program. Our volunteer instructors are changing the lives of Utahans for the better through a basic understanding of their own finances. With encouragement and education, graduates of the Financial Literacy program are becoming better spouses, better parents, better employees and better members of the community.
The Utah CPA Foundation was founded in 1999 by Ken Cutler of Interwest Associates after finishing his term as UACPA President. Originally formed to provide scholarships to accounting students, the Foundation's mission has broadened and now serves the public as well as the CPA profession.
The Foundation is 501(c)6 non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of trustees appointed by the UACPA Executive Board.
