The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a benefit for working people with low to moderate income. To qualify, you must meet certain requirements and file a tax return, even if you do not owe any tax or are not required to file. EITC reduces the amount of tax you owe and may give you a refund. January 27, 2017, marks the 11th year IRS will recognize EITC Awareness Day as a way to bring attention to this important tax credit

Form 8867: Paid Preparer's Due Diligence Checklist Beginning with tax year 2016, the form has been expanded and revised to include the Child Tax Credit/Additional Child Tax Credit and the American Opportunity Tax Credit.
